Carbon Capture
There’s no denying that climate change is real. The level of CO2 in the atmosphere is at a higher level now than at any other time in human history. The IPCC estimates that we will need to pull up to 10 Gt of CO2 (10 billion tons) from the atmosphere each year by 2050 to meet you climate targets and avoid global catastrophe.
To meet those goals, becoming carbon neutral is not enough anymore, we must become carbon negative. We need to fund ways of undoing the damage, just stopping it won’t be enough.
We at GII have been working to find a solution to this problem. We have been using our extensive experience and knowledge to develop next gen carbon capture technologies so we can start pulling CO2 from the atmosphere as soon as possible in large scale. One of our founders, Paresh Ghelani, was an early backer of the $100M Prize For Carbon Removal | XPRIZE Foundation. We are excited to announce that we will be competing in the XPRIZE competition as we all work towards a singular goal: get as much CO2 out of the atmosphere as we can as quickly as we can.
